The 2013 Mercedes-Benz C-Class gets more than 2,000 improvements

The 2013 Mercedes-Benz C-Class models not only get the new mbrace2 in-car communication service standard but they also get a plethora of other updates. The C-Class models are available as coupe or sedan and will be available at Mercedes-Benz dealers soon. They come in Sport or Luxury trim, and with a turbo 1.8-liter four cylinder, new 3.0-liter V6, or a more powerful 3.5-liter V6. A high-performance C63 AMG model, powered by a 6.3-liter V-8 that generates upward of 481 horsepower, is also available in both coupe and sedan body styles.

Now available on all C-Class models is the new AMG Sports Package Plus that has greater exhaust tuning, a refined sport interior and unique 18-inch seven-spoke wheels. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupes have a new additional package that includes restructured front suspension. Distronic Plus proximity control system is now a stand-alone option. The C300 and C350 come standard with stop/start technology, which shuts off the engine when stopped then restarts it again once the gas pedal is pressed. The C300 4Matic also gets an entirely new direct-injection 3.0-liter V6 that generates 248 horsepower and 251 lbs-ft of torque. This option is available for the C350 coupe as well but does not come standard.

The updates continue on the exterior of the C-Class, with the front end being recreated to look more like the current E-Class. New headlights and horizontal LED running lights in the bumper have been added and the taillight also integrates LED lighting.

Inside new trim choices include brushed aluminum, black ash and matte-finish burl walnut wood. The C-Class Sport trim comes with a unique three-spoke steering wheel and sporty interior cabin. The mbrace2 in-car communication service is now standard and the dash comes complete with complete with Mercedes’ Command system and 3-D city maps. Bluetooth audio streaming and USB inputs are also standard. There are also available sport interiors with contrasting-colored seat belts.

The 2013 C-Class got safety upgrades as well, including nine standard airbags: frontal, side-impact, side curtain, front pelvic and driver’s knee. There are now optional top of the line safety features such as: blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning and Attention Assist, which detects erratic driving and suggests the driver take a rest.
