A preview of the 2016 Mercedes-BenzAMG GT

A preview of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT

The new AMG GT is a new supercar by Mercedes. It is a marvel of engineering and design and is taking over where the SLS AMG left off. The two-door AMG GT is built to compete against, and more importantly win against, the Porsche 911. The AMG GT looks like a futuristic SLS and is built using the SLS as a base to work off. However, the AMG GT will lose the trademark gullwing doors that the SLS was/is famous for. While the overall body shape loks like an SLS it borrows other features from other famous Mercedes. For example, the lower intake vents look like those off of the E63 and the LED lights and lines on the doors resemble those seen on S-class vehicles.

The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is most defiantly not just a new SLS. It looks distinctly similar but has many details that set it apart and make it more appealing and edgy (figuratively speaking) than the SLS’s the precede it. It is more compact than the SLS, which will make it easier to drive on a daily basis. Another difference is that the AMG GT also will be noticeably more comfortable to drive than the SLS. The AMG GT is better described as a little brother to the SLS rather than a smaller version.

The rear-wheel-drive AMG GT with a front-mid-engine will weigh about 3300 pounds and is made mostly out of ultra-strong aluminum and steel. The AMG GT will have a unique engine that is a result of Mercedes engineers focusing on efficiency as much as power. It has a seriously beautiful 4-liter V8 engine with a twin turbo that produces about 500 horsepower. Mercedes-Benz may come out with a black edition like it did with the SLS models which could have as much as 650+ horsepower. The AMG GT will have a top-tier seven-speed automatic transmission. The AMG GT will likely arrive in dealerships nationwide in mid to late 2015. For more information visit Mercedes-Benz of Tucson and speak to a sales representative.
