Mercedes-Benz new generation of in-vehicle services, mbrace2™, brings social media to your car. Many of the new features can be managed directly from your smartphone or computer. mbrace2™ is standard on all 2013 Mercedes-Benz vehicles that you can find at Mercedes-Benz Tucson, excluding the S-Class and CL-Class. The new features include:
1. Valet Protect
This feature allows you to set up a virtual boundary using your smartphone when you leave your keys with a parking attendant or valet. If the car leaves the boundaries you have set up, Valet Protect will notify you by sending a text message to your phone.
Need directions? Find your ideal route to your destination using Google Maps and send it directly to your COMAND navigation system via your phone or your computer. This feature will copy the exact route, not just the destination.
3. Remote Horn & Lights
Ever wandered around a parking lot trying to remember where you parked? No more! Use your smartphone or the mbrace website to set off the horn and flash lights for five seconds so you can easily spot your car. This feature is also perfect for calling attention to your vehicle during an emergency.
4. Family Driver Monitoring
Have a new driver in your household? Use these monitoring features to set safety boundaries and track your new driver. Now you can feel comfortable when they drive away with these new mbrace2™ features.
Track your Mercedes-Benz on an online map. The map shows exactly where your car has been.
Only want your new driver going to school and the store? Create virtual boundaries and be notified if they are crossed.
Have a speedy driver? Set up speed limits online and receive notifications when they are exceeded.
5. In-Vehicle Internet
mbrace2™ brings the Internet to your dashboard! Browse the Internet using the COMAND navigation system of your Mercedes-Benz, but only while you are parked.
Google Local Search
Google goes wherever you go with mbrace2™. Features enable you to use Google’s Street View and Panoramio to view your destinations, call listed phone numbers and start navigation as easy as 1-2-3. You can even save search results for future reference.
Access consumer reviews of local restaurants and businesses all from your Mercedes-Benz. Find something with raving reviews? Navigate directly there with just one click.
Now you can stay connected while on the road. Update your status, check in at locations and see where your friends have checked in. Want to join them? This feature allows you to find them.
You no longer have to feel “out of the loop” while on the road. Get up-to-date information on local and world news with mbrace2™. Find something interesting? Share it with your friends on Facebook or via email using your car.

Years ago used cars were looked to as piles of junk, but today with the introduction of Certified Pre-Owned programs, that has changed. To be certified as a CPO, the car must meet age and mileage requirements established by the manufacturer. Then, they undergo comprehensive inspections by the dealership. Certified Pre-Owned cars often come with a warranty and financing options that are very similar to brand new cars. Choosing CPO means you have the ability to get a more expensive car for a lot less money.
The first brand to create a factory-certified pre-owned guaranteed was Arizona Mercedes-Benz dealers in 1989. Porsche followed in 1991 and Lexus in 1993. Later Acura, BMW, Cadillac, Jaguar, Toyota, Saturn and Volvo joined in. Today, almost every brand offers some sort of CPO program.
In recent years CPO programs have become much more popular. Certified used cars account for 41 percent of all used-car dealership sales according a 2005 study by J.D Power and Associates. According to Cars.com, national sales of certified pre-owned domestic vehicles collectively totaled 234,000 in 1997 and are expected to reach 610,000 in 2005. The jump is similar for Asian-based makes (149,000 to 625,500) and European makers (70,000 to 165,000) in the same time period. And Automotive News reports sales of 399,929 certified units in the first three months of 2005, a 4 percent increase over the first three months of 2004.
For luxury cars the savings seen with certified pre-owned cars are even greater, and can be up to three times that of a non-luxury car. This is mainly due to the fact that the starting base price is higher. But consumers, even when you factor in new-car incentives, can save about $3,200 in buying a 2- to 3-year-old car; all that money comes in the form of depreciation that the original owner had to absorb.
With a certified used car customers are not only saving money, but they are also getting a vehicle that was inspected, repaired and given a factory warranty, so they get an added value. With such wide selections of CPO’s and great financing offers, Certified Pre-Owned cars may be the way to go for new buyers. Used Mercedes-Benz cars now offer the peace of mind a new car does, without the price tag.
So, head to your Mercedes-Benz of Tucson to check out their wide selection of Certified Pre-Owned cars.
