mb dealership

Luxury, refinement and space abound at the brand new Mercedes-Benz dealership at the corner of Grant and Wilmont in Tucson, Arizona.

The new Tucson Mercedes-Benz location is twice as big as the old one and has a new modern look. Customers are pleased with the upgrade to the larger location and seem to enjoy the new digs.

When asked to describe the new dealership in one word Ted Chapman, president of the automotive group, said “approachable” to describe the overall feel. “We wanted it to be different and inviting,” he added.

The new facility was built from the ground up using the Autohaus design, which integrates standards outlined by Mercedes-Benz for all of its dealerships in the United States.

Mercedes-Benz is looking to make all their dealerships more consistent so that customers can see the difference. There is more of a distinguishing factor so customers can see it and know that it’s a Mercedes-Benz dealership. Chapman said that about 75-80% of Mercedes-Benz dealerships are starting to do this.

Tucson Mercedes-Benz customers will receive the same great service from the friendly and well-trained staff in the service center and on the sales floor at Mercedes-Benz of Tucson.

With twice as much space as the former location, the air-conditioned shop has 29 service bays and special European floor tiles that were installed by a crew from Germany. Service customers drive up under a hefty shade structure and enter a spacious area that accommodates a comfortable customer lounge, large viewing windows into the shop, a parts boutique and a courtesy vehicle desk.

The new dealership’s parts and accessories department inventories everything from quality Mercedes-Benz accessories such as trailer hitches, car covers, portable hands-free kits to purses and clothing, among many other offerings.

On the sales side, newly purchased cars are brought into a holding port through glass garage doors. With a quick hookup to in-floor exhaust outlets, they can be turned on to wait comfortably out of the elements while their owners finish up paperwork before the drive home.

From a customer and employee standpoint, the most important design strategy is the functionality of the building’s layout. It allows “for a flow between service, sales and parts – all inside the dealership,” Chapman said.
